I painted this to show transition, during moments of peace and chaos. She is calm, and in a peace-like state of mind with her eyes closed, though her body is bleeding and transitioning. The broken vases signify her past, as do the white butterflies, lacking colour and only resembling an ambience of what was there.

A bird will sing regardless of the listener, a flower will bloom regardless of it's surroundings, and a caterpillar will always morph into a beautiful butterfly. Be true to your nature, and you will find peace.

The blue butterfly is the centrepiece. It roams the forest, and flutters through the trees shining without permission, or care for recognition. It flies through it's own journey and writes it's own story. It inspires us by shining it's own light, which allows us to shine ours.

To see the world with innocent eyes, and have such hope that all will change, that there is beauty in life, and will power to roam: this is what keeps us young.
